ASDA - In the heart of the community

About ASDA

In the heart of the community

We like to put something back into the communities where we live and work. Our stores play a positive part in all aspects of local life, from working with new local suppliers to supporting charities and community activities.

We organise an annual ‘ASDA In The Community’ programme which involves a variety of events including blood donor sessions in store, fire safety training, customer and colleague health checks, road safety and charity awareness days, to name but a few.

Our store and depot colleagues are active in their communities and in 2006 they spent a total of almost 100,000 hours working with local groups and individuals within their communities. Last year they raised £1.2 million for charity.

Local Economy

Our stores play an integral role in the communities they serve - creating new jobs and stimulating the economy. ASDA provides communities with high quality goods and services at an affordable price.

Value is not only about price but also about choice, quality, service and affordability. Across groceries, George clothing, DVDs, mobile phones, pharmacies and petrol, ASDA delivers for local people. We are the UK's best value supermarket.

Accessible, low-cost shopping is vital to help sustainable communities. It delivers regeneration to town and inner-city centres and provides services to rural areas.

We aim to enable our customers to keep more of their money by reducing the cost of everyday living.
