What Happens Next?

Thank you to all of those who attended the ASDA public exhibition at the Gorseinon Institute at the start of the year. We estimate that around 250 people attended over both days and were delighted to note that the majority of local people were in support of the store.

Feedback received from local people has been as follows:

Over 98% of respondents think that Gorseinon needs more shopping choice.
Only 22% of respondents currently carry out their main food shopping in Gorseinon.
A new ASDA store would encourage 97% of respondents to shop in Gorseinon more than they do now.
Over 98% of respondents support ASDA’s proposals to build a new store on the Heol y Mynydd site.

It is now up to your representatives on the council to make a decision on our proposals. Should they be approved, we would look to commence construction as soon as possible with the aim of opening in 2010.
